Recorded during the Nord-Sud festival held at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva in October 2005, which focused on the theme "Does our future lie with China?" and featured several colloquiums and around forty films. In this episode, Alain Maillard interviews a couple from Fribourg, Pierre and Marcelle Grossenbacher, who had been living in China for over 16 years at the time.
An intriguing portrait of their Chinese experience on cultural, political, and work levels... Throughout the interview, one senses that Pierre is hesitant to fully express himself, providing politically correct answers to Alain Maillard, who attempts to get him to reveal his true thoughts. Supported by Marcelle, Pierre manages to maintain his political correctness, but a discerning listener will be able to read between the lines and grasp the reality of their daily life in China.
